Welcome to Resort Quest

The attractions, rich history and stunning scenery of these island communities blended with charmingly unique vacation homes and cottages has created overwhelming appeal. Riding through palm tree lined streets on a golf cart passing epic golf courses, lush forests and exciting attractions with the ocean breeze as a companion is an experience unique to Isle of Palms. On the other hand, learning to stand up paddleboard or waiting for that billfish to bite are great ways to exercise those sea legs on the pleasant waters of the Atlantic.

Charleston locals first started vacationing on Isle of Palms and Sullivan Island in the late 19th century. As the years have passed the barrier islands have not lost their paradisiacal charm but they have gained some exciting new developments. In 1962 Sullivan’s Island became home to the most modern lighthouse to date. The triangular structure boasts an elevator and marks the entrance to the Charleston harbor. Capturing this towering beauty against magenta sunsets over the Atlantic has led Sullivan’s Island to become a photographer’s paradise as well.

In 1975 the brilliant Hilton Head developers turned their attention to the northern tip of Isle of Palms and established the private community of Wild Dunes.  Host to miles of well-nourished beaches and a multitude of outdoor activities, Wild Dunes is a premier destination for persons of all tastes and ages. Beachfront homes with private beach access are a popular destination for family reunions or weddings while villas and cottages are gorgeous gateways to all the activities Wild Dunes offers. Avid golfers are lured by the two championship golf courses designed by Tom Fazio. The challenging Harbor Course meanders along the Intracoastal Waterway while the Links course finishes at the Atlantic Ocean and is continually rated among the ‘top 100 resort courses’ by Golf magazine. Plus, top rated tennis facilities draw tennis enthusiasts with 17 well maintained five of which are lighted at night.

The Isle of Palms Marina is a full service facility with equipment and boat rentals, tours and activities centered on the maritime lifestyle.  Excursions to Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge and Fort Sumpter allow guests to see firsthand the natural wonder of the barrier islands and their diverse and intriguing wildlife. Dolphin and sunset cruises are great for families looking to view sea turtles nesting spots and the 2011 award-winning re-nourished beaches. Plus, real excitement seekers can experience the adrenaline rush of shark and night fishing charters which showcase angling’s wild side.
